Though it may incorporate elements of an individual real room that once existed somewhere, it is usually by its nature a composite and fictional piece. Period rooms at encyclopedic museums may represent different countries and cultures, while those at historic house museums may represent different eras of the same structure. As with the glamorization of luxury in costume drama, this can be considered as a conservative genre that traditionally privileges Eurocentric elite views. In the 21st century, the focus has shifted toward using period rooms in new ways or in diversifying them. == References == - [[Building Construction/Construction & Materials/Building Material/Glass and Glazing]] - [[Environmental Design/Strong Foundations for Sustainable Constructions/pillars]] - [[Research, Analysis & Citations/Glossary]] - [[Professional Practice/Codes & Standards/National Building Code of India/Part 06 - Structural Design/Section 7B - Systems Building]] - [[Building Construction/Construction & Materials]] - [[Digital Architecture/ePractice/BIM and Digital Modeling]] - [[History and Theory/World History/Modern Architecture]] - [[Environmental Design/Design Psychology]] - [[Professional Practice/Codes & Standards/National Building Code of India/Part 09 - Plumbing Services/Section 4 - Gas Supply]] - [[Building Construction/Construction & Materials/Building Material/Timber and Wood Products]] == External links == Media related to Period rooms at Wikimedia Commons
